The English Garden magazine launches ‘The Future Fund’ alongside the release of the Spring 2016 issue
We are delighted to announce that in partnership with leading gardens magazine, The English Garden, the The Future Fund has been launched. This is an annual bursary offering one person the chance to kickstart a brand new career in garden design, with course fees paid.
This year, the winner will help build a garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2017 and take part in a work placement at a garden design practice, a fantastic opportunity to get a foothold in the industry, network with the country’s best garden designers and gain the essential knowledge needed to become a professional garden designer.
The application process, open now, involves entrants sketching a design for a small London roof garden overlooking the Thames, with all entries going before a panel of judges on 20 June 2016 to be shortlisted. A public voting system will then begin with the winner being announced in the October 2016 issue, on sale 14 September.
The English Garden is the fastest growing gardens magazine with a separate edition for the US market, published bi-monthly. The One Year Online Diploma in Principles and Practices of Garden Design at The Inchbald School of Design is a part-time, distance-learning course with a minimum of 10 hours formal learning a week and assignments for tutor feedback, worth £6,680.
The application form and instructions for entering The English Garden Future Fund can be found in the Spring and May 2016 issues of The English Garden magazine, or pick up a form from our stand at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 24-28 May.
