This two-week drawing course concentrates on teaching draughtsmanship and drawing skills specifically for garden and landscape design. It is an excellent preparation for those embarking on the Diploma, Postgraduate Diploma or MA Degree in garden design courses at the Inchbald School of Design, or similar garden design courses, but can also benefit those who wish to refresh skills and working designers who need to develop their drawing ability.
You will be introduced to formal orthographic drawing – plan, section, elevation, perspective and axonometric – produced at the drawing board. As a complement to this formal draughtsmanship, you will explore three-dimensional drawing and sketching, both indoor and outdoor. You will also explore colour rendering, lettering and layout. Short garden design projects run through the course, increasing in complexity as you develop you skills.
