Principal Jacqueline Duncan and Vice Principal Alan Hughes attended the bustling launch party at Home House for ‘Fifties House’ by Catriona Gray of House & Garden.
Published in tandem with Conran Octopus, with a foreword by Terence Conran, the book exploits the huge archive at House & Garden showing photographs from articles published through that particular decade and showcasing the most innovative designs produced. This includes a striking image of a flat designed by Michael Inchbald for Jacqueline Duncan prior to her marriage to Mr Inchbald.
Outgoing Editor Sue Crewe and her newly announced successor Hatta Byng hosted the party at Portman Square in the bar famously designed by Zaha Hadid, an Inchbald graduate. Author Catriona Gray was delighted to meet Mrs Duncan to hear some of the real stories behind the photographs used in the book and both agreed that some further conversations would make an interesting contribution to other planned publications in the series.
