Ergonomics and practical room design; classical traditions.

Transforming spaces with light, pattern, texture and colour in room schemes.
Thursday
Window treatments and fine curtains; furniture design and manufacture.
Friday
Upholstery detailing; practicing designers' and decorators' projects.
An introduction to Interior Decoration that encourages students to develop their knowledge and interest by looking at a broad selection of the issues faced by practitioners of this wide-ranging and fascinating subject.
The pace of the course is fast. Subjects range from aesthetic issues - proportion and space and the perceptual impact of colour, light and texture - to the practical matters of ergonomics and space planning. Specialist lectures are interspersed with the opportunity to see how practicing designers have applied their skills and knowledge in their own projects.
