Students are given a thorough grounding in both the art and practise of interior decoration, preparing them to work initially as specialist members of larger design teams.
Students learn the multiple skills required to complete high quality decoration projects. These include design skills, colour, light, finishes, upholstery, construction and drawing. The study of supporting crafts is comprehensive and includes both historic and contemporary perspectives. Academic lectures are supplemented by visits, seminars with experts and practical exercises, including assignments which address the multitude of problems faced by the residential interior decorator.
