The course concentrates on the teaching of draughtsmanship and drawing skills specifically for garden and landscape design. It is an excellent preparation for those embarking on the year courses at the Inchbald, or any other such courses, but can also benefit those who wish to refresh skills and working designers who need to develop their drawing ability. Students will be introduced to formal orthographic drawing - plan, section, elevation, perspective and axonometric - produced at the drawing board. As a complement to this formal draughtsmanship, students will explore three dimensional drawing and sketching, both indoor and outdoor. Colour rendering, lettering and layout are also covered. Short design projects run through the course, increasing in complexity as skills develop.
