The course is validated by Wrexham Glyndwr University and can be studied as a stand-alone course or as the first stage of the BA (Hons) Architectural Interior Design.

Course content

The course establishes the overarching principles of design incorporating the core elements of design, scale, form, light, texture and colour.

Students explore the development of ideas and methods of visual communication, learning to consider a client's requirements and to organise and decorate a residential site via studio and workshops, exchanging ideas and experiences through round table discussions. Coursework includes a residential design scheme with full notes, keys, schedules and specifications, providing creative opportunity with the processes that under pin it. Learning to evaluate and categorise information is taught alongside the regulatory procedures, references and the specification of materials, fitments and equipment.
